how to get rid of an inefficient google calendar once and for all!

Being able to visually see how you spend your time is a total game changer!

1.) CREATE NEW AND SYSTEMIC CALENDAR CATEGORIES

Get excited by choosing your favourite colours! Time block your world. Personal - if you don't value your own time, no one else will Fitness - feel free to substitute this if you have other hobbies you'd like to schedule in

Business admin - anything from emails, social media engagement and more

Project - research, development, designing, editing

Meetings - whether this is online or in-person

Finance - noting when I invoice clients or do my monthly financial documentation

2.) SHARE AND INVITE FOR ACCOUNTABILITY

Include an agenda to streamline the time you spend connecting. This gives each of you the opportunity to prepare ahead of time and set expectations from the initial engagement. I encourage you to add relevant files and hyperlinks you may reference during your chat. You can share the whole calendar if you're working in a team environment or with a retainer client.

3.) SYNC APPS

Dictate your own availability with intervals for meetings via Calendly or Acuity. Incorporating video calls for a personal feel: ZOOM or Google Hangouts are valuable resources.

4.) TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS FOR REMINDERS

This will ensure you're mindful of your time blocking. This quick prompt will help ensure that you'll never miss an event again!

HOW TO SET UP: Settings - Event settings - Notifications - Set duration

5.) ENABLE THE WORLD CLOCK To all of my remote workers out there, this one's for you! I've had my fair shares of how confusing it can be to differentiate between time zones. HOW TO SET UP: Settings - World Clock - Check off the boxes of which timezones you want showcased
